Who writes Retiris

Retiris is a small independent publisher. The same team builds the retirement model, writes the scenarios and analysis that use it, and reviews the country guides. We think you should know that before you rely on anything here.

The Retiris editorial team

Our background is in financial modelling and consumer finance writing rather than regulated advice. The work splits into three parts: building and testing the projection and simulation engine; checking every rule, rate and threshold against the original government or regulator publication; and writing it up in plain English with the assumptions on show.

What we do claim

  • We can model a retirement plan accurately and explain exactly how the maths works.
  • We read primary sources — GOV.UK, HMRC, FCA, MoneyHelper, IRS, SSA, Medicare — and cite them.
  • We correct errors quickly and date every review.

What we do not claim

  • We are not regulated financial advisers and do not give personalised advice.
  • We do not recommend products, providers or funds, and we take no commissions.
  • We do not forecast markets. Our simulations explore ranges of outcomes, not predictions.

How to check our work

Every modelled figure we publish can be reproduced. The maths is documented on how the Retiris model works, the assumptions are printed alongside each scenario, and the same inputs typed into the calculator will return the same answer. Our sourcing and review rules are on the editorial methodology page.
